OOC RULES

1. Please understand that this venue is NOT FOR E-RP. You may flirt, and even bring up sexual or otherwise adult topics hence this being an R-18 venue. However, if you are going to start E-RP please leave the venue first. 2. In the event someone does make you uncomfortable, please bring it up to a member of staff in /tells and the offending individual will be approached. If they continue, they will be asked to leave. 3. The Yol's Nest is a space for all, therefore TERFs, homophobes, ableists, racists and other such individuals will not be welcomed at this venue. If you have any hate in your heart for a person's disabilities, race, sexuality or gender, this place is not for you. 4. None of the menu items cost OOC gil. Any transactions are purely IC, but we welcome any gil tips! 5. Put your minions away when you enter the venue!

IC RULES

1. While we are a Xaela-centric venue, any and all people seeking shelter from the cold are welcome. Stop by and take a bite to eat! 2. Please take any physical fighting outside of the venue. While we understand having a number of Xaela in the same room can cause confrontation, take it to Coerthan soil for everyone's sake. 3. When inside the venue keep your weapons sheathed. The Yol's Nest will not deprive you of your weapon, but with this trust comes common sense. I won't be afraid to break my own rules or call upon the Temple Knights if I need to step in. 4. Be respectful of others. This should go without saying. 5. If you start a food fight, you're the ones cleaning it up.

What is the yol's nest?

A small venue run by Dotharli warrior Zamilan, this venue is a breakfast-lunch Steppe-fusion cuisine café. It was made at a point when the owner was unsure what to do with her life outside the Azim Steppe, with the hope of making life a little easier and more comfortable for those that had wandered beyond their eastern homeland.Many rumours circled Ishgard, Coerthas, and the people's treatment of the Orl tribe. While they were just rumours, having experienced the way Ishgardians can treat Au'Ra with scrutiny believing them to be dragonkin or heretical, Zamilan decided she'd fight back... their way, by being a positive influence and showing them the wonders of her culture through their stomachs.Of course, just bringing the Steppe to Eorzea wasn't enough; instead she chose to infuse Eorzean foods with tastes of the Azim Steppe, with hope that this marriage of food could pique curiosities on both sides and provide a safe space for her people to rest.

Fusion Breakfasts

Dishes from around the world - with just a sprinkling of home. THANALAN Ogre Plum Pancakes: Flavored with Ogre Pumpkin spice and served with a dollop of cream, these pancakes are topped with a healthy helping of Othardian Plums and a rich fruity sauce to bring out the best in your Thanalan pancakes. LA NOSCEA Bluebell Salmon Bagel: From the fresh open waters of Upper La Noscea, this salmon is rubbed with Steppe spices and thinly sliced, topped with parsley then served with a generous helping of creamy scrambled Muu Shuwuu egg. THE BLACK SHROUD Sauteed Chanterelle on Toast: Perfect for the mushroom lover, these are buttery chanterelle sauteed with herbs and fennel, served on a crunchy brown bread slice. COERTHAS Dzo Baguette: Using the rich meat of a dzo, it is served in a beautifully soft baguette with a bed of Sun Cabbage and drizzled with béarnaise sauce. GYR ABANIA Mountain Popotoes: A simple bowl of mountain popotoes from The Peaks, diced into small cubes, cooked and mixed with chickweed and finely chopped leeks. Served in a bowl with a topping of sour cream. HINGASHI Dawn Onigiri: Partially wrapped in a thin layer of seaweed, this platter of onigiri is sprinkled with seeds and filled with the succulent meat of a Dawn Crayfish. NORTHERN ILSABARD Borscht for Breakfast: A rather hearty beet soup filled with hardy onions, garlic and other veggies for the coldest of winter days no matter the time. Sprinkled and mixed with nipplewort, as well as diced horsemeat. SOUTHERN ILSABARD Steppe Shakshouka: Using a strong mix of Thavnairian and Steppe spices, this shakshouka uses Muu Shuwuu eggs simmering in a mix of peppers, onions, tomatoes and garlic. It can be served with or without hamsa, usually in a pan and sprinkled with feta cheese.

Feast like it's a naadam morning!
(It is recommended you order at least three of the below dishes together!) THE AZIM STEPPE Buuz: Simple steamed meat dumplings with minced mutton, onion and garlic just like mother used to make 'em.Boortsog: Triangular pieces of dough that have been deep-fried and served in a pleasant bowl. Comes with a helping of yoghurt or clotted cream on request!Aaruul: Cheese curds that have been allowed to dry out, drained and shaped with a slightly sour, salty taste and smooth texture.Khuushuur: Dzo meat minced down and fried inside a soft doughy parcel to give them plenty of flavor and texture.Öröm: A rich, fatty, thick cream to be served on top of - or as a side for - homemade bread.

A little extra. Just to be naughty. SMALLER TREATS Cookies: Perfect little snacks, either to be eaten alone or with a cup of tea. Tuck in! (Come in sugar, chocolate chip, raisin or nutty flavors.)Nankhatai: A traditional Thavnairian biscuit with cardamom. Goes really well with masala chai!Chocolates: A small selection of chocolates with various flavors and fillings. (White/Milk/Dark, nut-free is optional)Fruits: Whoever said fruit can't be a treat is wrong. We have a selection of fruits from around the world! (Bananas, Persimmons, Loquats, Apples, Pears, Grapes or Plums)Carrots: Someone really likes these. DELIGHTS (All may be served with either ice cream (vanilla, chocolate or mint) or custard (plain, chocolate or mint) at your discretion.)Yol Cake: A Yol's Nest specialty. Sponge cake coated in icing that has been made to have a pattern reminiscent of that found of Yol's feathers. With a layer of Othardian Plum jam sandwiched in the center.Cake Slices: A slice of cake pulled from either a sponge, chocolate, carrot or spice cake.Sticky Toffee Pudding: A moist square of sponge cake, filled with dates and smothered in a toffee sauce.Apple Crumble: A crumbly slice with thick apple chunks inside, and hints of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Quench your thirst before going back out there! (Alcoholic content will be noted.) COLD DRINKS Milkshake: A very thick cold drink served with sauce, cream and sprinkles in a tall glass! Comes with a straw. (Rolanberry, Banana, Chocolate, Toffee or Mint flavors.)Milk: Just a plain glass of yak's milk!Juice: Refreshing, fruity and served with ice in a tall glass. (Apple, Orange, Carrot, Grape or Loquat flavors.)Airag: Made from fermented mare's milk, it has a sour and fizzy flavor!Arkhi: A traditional distilled Steppe vodka made from dairy products, homemade! (Alcoholic.)Water: Simply water. Can be requested with ice.

HOT DRINKS Tea: Pleasantly warm and thin, a must-have with some cookies and popular world-wide in various forms. (Ishgardian, Doman, Gyr Abanian, Steppe, Thavnairian varieties available.)Hot Chocolate: A favourite of the owner, it's thick and rich velvety flavor comes from yak's milk, cocoa and spices, topped with whipped cream with a choice of marshmellows or chocolate shavings. (Alcohol optional.)Coffee: A great pick-me-up for the long day ahead. Different strengths available, from 'weak to week-long'.Mulled Apple Cider: A piping hot apple cider, faintly spiced. A favourite in the holiday season.
